 Absolutely correct, Chuut.

And all this time I thought you had no class or taste.  Who knew?

  How bout this one......

"Vodka intimate, an affair with isolation in a blackheath cell.
Extinguishing the fires in a private hell,
Provoking the heartache to renew the license.
Of a bleeding heart poet in a fragile capsule,
Propping up the crust of a glitter conscience.
Wrapped in the christening shard of a hangover,
Baptized in tears from the real, tears from the real."

  Any non - Brits?

Yes I used to DJ at my college Radio Station, so I know quite a few unusal tunes, as we were not allowed to play top 40.

Now I know the answer to your next question as well but I will leave it for another, but just to assure you I know...

Drowning in the liquid seize on the Piccadilly line, rat race
Scuttling through the damp electric labyrinth
Caress Ophelia's hand with breathstroke ambition
An albatross in the marrytime tradition
Sheathed within the Walkman wear the halo of distortion
Aural contraceptive aborting pregnant conversation
She turned the harpoon and it pierced my heart
She hung herself around my neck

had to listen to that one agin to remember the lyrics...lol its been a long time, thanks for the incentive.

and why non-brits?
they are an American band from the DC area?

BTW Gwarlock ever see a band from their called "Mission D.C." in the early 80's
good music and fun guys to party with.  I think they might have originated in your area, but played alot down here.

OK, cat-boy, 2 for 2.  You really impressed me with the Marillion. They were never big over here.  How about.....

Let's see just how big that album collection is. And don't make me pull out my 8 tracks!

When the tigers broke free
An unpublished track that never made it on to The Wall, but did feature in the movie.

(Stands up for a round of applause)

The lady knows her Floyd.

Actually it was cut, along with 1 or 2 others, because the album was too long (one of the unfortunate restrictions of vinyl). Another song (Empty Spaces) was shortened. Alan Parker put Tigers back in for the Movie and used the longer version of Spaces.

To be quite honest I'm not big on Pre-Dark side of the Moon, and Syd Barrett. The only thing I listen to from then is Meddle. Not sure when Animals was released though. So you got me with the next lyric you asked for.

Some more questions:

Have you ever played The Wall backwards?

Did you know Wish You Were Here was responsible for David Gilmour giving up smoking?

Or that When the Tigers Broke Free was based on Roger Waters real father?

How many weeks did Dark Side of the Moon spend in the Billboard Top 100?

Not quite sure of the EXACT number, but I think its around 543 weeks on the top 100.  Probably more.  And for Tracey, since she mentioned Barry Manilow.........

    Her name was Tracey,
    She was an admin.
And while her sig pic made you stare
(cuz' her top's cut down to there)
    She would play Klingon,
    But mostly Feddie
And while she's quick with an excuse
    When Gwarlock's on the loose
        She tried to saber dance
        And almost lost her pants
        She knows the truth behind
        All of Gwarlock's rants
   On the server
   SFC server
The hottest spot on all the Dyna
   On the server
   SFC ser-ver
   Loose all your scatters
   Cuz what really matters,
   On the  server,
   I have your bra.

     His name was Doggy,
     He just played Klingon.
     He'a arguably the best,
But just not up to the test.
  So he and Tracey,
  They called me over.
    Both lookin' to lock horns
    By pickin on a Gorn.
       And then the scatters flew,
       PF's were smashed in two.
       Then the mission CTD'd
       And just who beat who?
   On the server,
   SFC server.
The hottest spot on all the Dyna.
   On the server
   SFC ser-ver
      Scatters and crashin'
      are always in fashion
      On the ser-ver
       Still have your bra.

Plazmarized

Ive been waiting 40 miniutes just for one shot ( YAHHH)
And all you can do is say you never saw it comming
You find yourself plazmarized, and Im comming around agin
All I want is your tiny little innocent hull ablaze
And when you feel like your safe
You find your self Plazmarized, and Im comming back agin.

Why do you like playing around with infereior views
Your narrow scope of the map allows me to slip around
You think your breaking away, Im just breaking you in

See you dont get it
You think you can run and start your run agin
You think you can take control of it
You get Plazmarized

Dont Deny me
Oh babby dont deny me
And Darling dont be afraid

Look in my Plasma torps, stare into my R torp
As I begin to Plazmarize you

Old Genesis, not sure what album though, the earlier Genesis question brought back the memory.  Late 1960's or early 1970's I believe.

PS I think your words are off

I think it is "Dark night, planets are set", now where are my old bootleg cassettes...

were from the 1968 album, "More", the song was called "The Nile Song"..
No winners unforunately (how could anyone not know that one? It's only... 35 years old!! LOL!!)
And to think I was going to send the winner some of my summer beach pics... oh well... <snicker>

Chuut,  it was an EARLY (and I mean early) Genesis bootleg I found at a yardsale.  IT's called From Genesis to Revelation.  Turning Japanese?  The Vapors happened to be an excellent band that had a hit then vanished all to fast.  Fruit flies last longer.  Here's an off the wall one for ya Chuut:

  There were some scientists
sitting round thinkin bout the sasquatch riddle.
When they figured out he was the missing link.

  In search of sasquatch,
That was a kickass 'In Search Of'
With Leonard Nimoy kickin out the jams.

  Hint: Cleveland steamer
          Buttress of Windsor
          Block of Bach

Hmmm, no one want to attempt the Dark Side of the Moon. OK I'll just spill it then.

I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame about two years ago, just after Pink Floyd was inducted. There was an exhibit dedicated to them, that covered most of the floor at the time. It was displaying old stage props, including Inflatable pigs and the Headmaster from the Wall. There also a history of the group with various pictures.

But most prominently was the display that outlined their accomplishment for Most Consecutive weeks on the Billboard 100 by a single album.

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon - 754 weeks. Yes, thats right almost 15 consectutive years in the charts.

It is still there today hovering around 90-95. Unfortunately it dropped off breifly about 5 years ago interupting the consecutive run. So it started a new run.

Not bad considering they weren't "mainstream" at the time.

In a Pink Floyd vein, there is a band who did the entire Dark Side album as reggae covers.  Before you laugh, it's actually quite good.  It's called 'Dub side of the moon' and it comes complete with bong noises.  Just thought I'd put it out there.

Yes, Kroma, I still have the dragon.  But from me to thee, answer these riddles three:

    1) What is the only Beatles song the Beatles didn't perform in the studio?

    2) Who wrote the lyrics "Power was to become cheap and clean, grimy faces were never seen.  Deadly for 10,000 years is carbon 14"

    3) What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
