I updated the original post the other day. If anyone thinks of additional info that is needed in the OP, please let me know.  FYI, I'm running XP so I can't speak to Vista requirements specifically.

I've tried everything in this thread and more, and I still can't get past the effing directplay test host when trying to connect to the online campaign. I've almost entirely given up hope of ever playing this game online again. Someone please help...

Running Windows XP

Router: Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model WRT54GS

Internet Connection: Cable


I'm certain I've got the patches and new dynaverse server patches installed correctly, as I've checked, double checked, and triple checked. I've tried every little fix and tweak I've seen suggested on these forums and nothing works. I can drop my antivirus and firewalls and leave my computer completely unprotected and it still just refuses to work. Always hangs up on Starting Directplay Test Host. I don't know what else to do.

I hate to be the ancient ghost of forum topics past, but several friends and I are trying to get SFC3 dynaverse going.. is it perma-dead now? I didn't if I should post this here or somewhere else. Really sorry if I chose poorly.
