Federation TOS "RAIDER"
« on: February 06, 2015, 01:47:35 pm »
So, about 3 months ago I had an itch to build something. Not had a huge amount of time with work, child etc.. but I have saved those few spare hours here and there and worked on something new for this community that still thrives and it deserves something fresh now and again for those that still visit.

So bought myself a Lenovo X200T, and upgraded the ram to 8gb and installed a 500GB SSHD and 8.1 Pro. <- entire setup £200 bargain. (god bless eBay)
did the research, excellent bit of kit to make low poly models etc.. its Wacom Penabled for texturing etc.

So while googling for a project to start on I found a profile i liked and at the time did not know where it came from, but then found it was IM's (Interstellar Machine) work.. coincidence eh  :) So basically from the one image I saw of his TNG 'Raider' i decided i was going to make a TOS version.

No REGISTRY yet, No Class, No ship name. I would like to leave that to IM as it was based on his design.. So for the time being here is the completed mesh of the Federation TOS 'Raider'. The mesh is 100% complete and clean and sits at:

4106 Polys
7544 Triangles

IM's model can be found here under 'RAIDER' http://interstellarlegacy.blogspot.co.uk/

A day spent mapping is now done. Now to move onto the fun part eh.. thinking of a blend of NX and traditional textures might look nice.

Miles, I was thinking NX style panelling (detail) with pale traditional fed elements..

You got a name for your bundle of Joy?  :)
