EAW Server setup
« on: March 20, 2014, 12:19:23 am »
Hi,
I am back here after a long time and have some time & resources I did not have a few years ago!
I want to setup an EAW server, but I am having problems.  I downloaded the 2.0.36 Server kit and opened up
various ports on my firewall (in fact firewall is off for this host now for testing) and done the appropriate port forwarding
from my gig-e switch.   I have run the serverplatform.exe and it always fails on my RFC-1918 IP address "private IP".
But I have the correct WAN IP in the server config file.
Here is my setup:

Code: [Select]
Name="ServerSetup"

[Settings]
SingleThreaded = 0
CreateCentralSwitch = 1
CampaignFile = "MyCampaign.mct"
SinglePlayer = 0
RTI = 1

[RTI]
IPAddr = "209.69.154.13:2601"

[CentralSwitchSetup]
CentralSwitchAddress="my_WAN_IP"
Listen = 1
CentralSwitchPort = 27100

[WONDirectoryServer]
ServerPath = "/StarFleetCommand2/Game/Release"

[WONDirectoryServer/Addresses]
//0="sfc2.west.won.net:15101"
//1="sfc2.central.won.net:15101"
//2="sfc2.east.won.net:15101"
0="client.sfc.dynaverse.net:15101"
1="client.dynaverse.net:15101"
2="sfc2.directory.stasis.ca:15101"

I do not know what RTI is.....   The RTI IP address does not respond.

Here is what happens if I run the installer:

Code: [Select]
Server Version: 2.0.3.6 Build: 3
Install complete
The default IP address for the server is:  192.168.100.186
If this is incorrect, edit your ServerSetup.gf, and fill in the CentralSwitchAddress with the correct IP
See the readme.txt for more detail.

WARNING!!!!: You are using a local ip address, this will NOT work
Please see the readme.txt

I have done port forwarding for 27100, 15101 and a few others listed on the forum.
Can anyone please advise?  I know this must work as others can do it.  I also have a static WAN IP.
At this stage, I just want a D2 on my LAN and then if it works I will setup
a session here in Australia as I now have a <6ms ping ;)

Everyone can run a LAN server for SFC Orion Pirates now if they wish.
