Alternate Textures plus blanks available for Saladin DD
« on: March 09, 2003, 12:54:20 pm »
Ten alternate textures plus blank are now available at my stupid website. All are at 1024x1024. Just overwrite the existing ones that you want to change. All have none or one command stripe on primary hull texture, some have two command stripes, the Lucifer has 0,1,2,and 3 command stripes. The blank set also has no pennant, solid pennant with no NCC# knockout, and one with knockout on warp engine texture.

USS Ares NCC-524
USS Hamilcar NCC-518
USS Hannibal NCC-512
USS Loki NCC-529
USS Lucifer NCC-521
USS Lysander NCC-540
USS Perseus NCC-544
USS Sargon NCC-504
USS Scipio NCC-553
USS BLANK NCC-XXX

They are at the bottom of the destroyers page, link is in my siggy. They are fully interchangeable with all versions of the Saladin.

St Clair: The Alexander is the default texture for the Drone Destroyer lol i forgot... you can exchange with any version as above..

No sir. My intention is to rebuild a few elements on the Galaxy and retexture it. I do intend to do the Bismarck, as i think its a cool idea. My projects are stacking up geez...

Good Job, my lord.... you have produced without a doubt, the finest collection of TOS ships I've seen...

I just have one question though and thats, where do I get hold of the font to "fill in" the blanks - so to speak....

Cheers!!.........

Have done so.  Thanks again!

Your TOS work continues to impress and amaze.  Just one example:  I love how your hull-lights actually have sources, built into the mesh.  Now that's attention to detail.

Will these textures work on all 3 saladin models, or only the uss saladin? ( I assume saladin and xerexes are the same model, and so on)

There are mesh differences in all the models but coz the textures for the bit's with name plates map the same you can use these, but any red stripes around the saucer (on the command and plasma variants) will be gone. Oh and the command version of the normal Saladin and the Plasma Saladin, have extra phasers on the saucer so the 'mount' texture will disappear. It's fairly simple to place the new name texture over the old, and then cut around the new name and delete the rest (ensuring the old name doesn't show through) and they will then match for all variants - you could easily do that in Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop.

saladin and xerxes are the same model though right? on the saladin page, it looks like there are 2 of each model type.

The second version of each ship is a command version which will have w extra phaser ball turrets on the saucer behind the bridge (on the DDGC they are on the dron launcher thingy) and so they have the little dark grey area on the saucer texture where the ball turrets go. Also they have a red ring around the saucer ala the Federation class. So no each command version has a slightly different model with the 2 extra turrets and they have slightly different textures. The blanks can be very easily modded to accomodate these versions. Oh, almost forgot the standard plasma destroyer has a red ring on the saucer aswell, the command version has 2 rings. k?

you might be able to download trek fonts from several trek sites like ad astris or neutral zone, ect. Though don't take my word for it as I've never had any reason to go looking for them.
