Are you looking for a program that can alter and render models?

Blender is a freeware program that will import file models (obj, 3ds, dae, x3d, wrl, bvh, svg, ply, stl) for editing and rendering. Lots of YouTube tutorials for it also.

Name and Registry on your model (ex. NCC-101 "Anyship") is usually just a skin or texture map that can be changed with a graphics program like Paint.

Where about do you install them into Windows 7 paint?
