The BoP owes its longevity to ST TNG not having put too much thought in making new Klingon ships for the series. Models of the quality used in television and movies at the time were not cheap or easy to have done date certain. In ST Enterprise, the K'Tinga showed us about 100 years early, because they were still having problems with the lighting with the model made for the episode.

Actually there were no models at all in Enterprise. ST: Enterprise was the first Star Trek Series to be filmed entirely in CGI. Even Voyager's first season was still largely motion control cameras. The issue with the Klingon Battle Cruiser was the expense of creating another CGI model so soon after the pilot episode, where everything was "built" for the first time. What I really want to know, is what are they paying these Hollywood Union Computer Graphics Specialists? Because I think that many of the models created here on these forums are of better quality than some of their "Professional" models.

I think you're right.

I was wondering about the story with that model. All the other models look like cgi, but I guessed they were doing it the old fashioned way at the beginning of the series.

That particular Klingon Battle Cruiser model was used in the Voyager episode "Flashback", and possibly in the Episode "Prophecy".
