Man of Steel ...
« on: June 23, 2013, 07:21:19 am »

In a word  ....  boring.

Then again the target audience is between the ages of 10 - 16.
The Star Spangled Banner bring hither,
O're Columbia's true sons let it wave.
May the wreaths they have won never wither,
Nor it's stars cease to shine on the brave.

Myself i din't like it as much as the old movie series.  Then again i always found superman movies somewhat boring.  I mean he is pretty much invincible so is there any doubt he will win.  Only thing about superman story wise that gave me any actual entertainment was doomsday fights.

As for the movie itself only good thing in it in my opinion were the battles.  I haven't seen destruction in this scale in a movie in a while.

I kind of liked it myself. IT was Def. Better than Superman 3-4 and a hell of a lot better than returns. I'd put it as number two or three on my list of favs.

It's funny, some of the animated movies from DC do a better job telling a story then the live action stuff.

I think Crisis On Two Earths is probably the best superhero movie I've ever seen.

I liked Superman Returns.  As for Man of Steel, Superman in general is a less interesting character than other super heroes so I felt the film was mostly satisfactory.  My main problem with it was the scene where he snapped Zod's neck.  There's just something wrong about that.

Batman: Year One was awesome.

Batman: Year One was awesome.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse was awesome too, especially at the end when Superman, Supergirl and Darkseid completely destroy the Kent farm. Best battle I've ever seen; very innovative uses of powers. I just wish they had kept Michael Ironside as Darkseid. He was perfect and I just can't accept anyone else portraying him. I sort of feel the same way about Lex Luthor and Clancy Brown. You can't do better, so why try?
