That internal Donation drive was awesome! I was so proud of what they did.

Anyways, It is not my place to say what is going on behind the scenes, outside of saying, IT is looking good, But I advise caution with any and all current franchises or intellectual property.  What I would suggest, if we go down that route, would be to create our own world/universe.

On a personal note with Mensa, IF I do go back, I want it made clear, my loyalty would be to you, and your goals, and not Mensa as a group. I have gotten too old , too bitter, and WAAAY to misanthropic to enjoy a multitude of new people. I am not saying, that they would not be treated with the utmost respect, nor would I ever do anything to damage the name of Mensa, But I fall back on that old line of thought, that any group who would have me as a member , needs their head examined.

Why would they allow SAT's or AFQTs?

I had a friend who had, I think about a 130-135 IQ and he got lower than their required for the SAT at around a 1200...however he was rather strange on his explanation of the AFQT.  He got in the 99% for all numbers like Math and Reading and one other arena...however they also have the Pilot and Navigator portion which he got an 85% and 79% in.

How would Pilot and Navigation ability transfer into Intelligence quota?

Of course from what I see they only use it for those who had it prior to 10/80 ironically.

More quirkiness he got a 32 ACT if I recall correctly, but didn't get near that 95% for the LSAT.  What would an LSAT and ACT have in correlation to each other anyways.  The ACT and SAT are easier than the LSAT to get a high score or percentage simply due to the quality of people you are competing against.

I'm not certain how they are measuring one's intelligence with all those different tests they allow as that covers a pretty wide range of differences.

If their goal is simply to raise their numbers in membership, it's a good idea, but overall not all tests are created equal in relation to IQ.

Which is my point with my friend.  Some of his would disqualify him, while other tests included there would qualify him.  I would think it's an yes or no, not an either/or.

So quick update - I just lost my day job in Dec. and now have been able to focus a little more on My Mensan Think Tank - even got quite a few new national and international members recently too - including a legit member of the RLSH movement.

Looking to get funding for some big projects - if anyone has substantial resources - and/or is currently in Mensa - I would love to get you involved with my group.

I'm thinking 2013 is the year we turn it up to 11!

Let me know if you are interested - biggest returns for those who get in on the ground floor of my up and coming semi-secret society!

Nah - owls are too old school - we prefer this as our centerpiece:

The great owl of Bohemia is cooler.  That might make a nice offering though.
