New indie airship combat game
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:28:45 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I wanted to spread the word about the project I'm working on which is a bit more fantasy based but I think this game would be right up your alley. We are huge fans of Starfleet Command (and Starfleet Battles) and we really wanted to modernize that experience and focus on that gameplay in a way that games like Total War can't.

It's totally OK if you're not into this kind of game, but I was hoping you'd be able to check it out, 'like' it, or even contribute if you want to see a game like this get made.

If I'm totally off base here I sincerely apologize, I know I just registered for these forums, but I thought I'd try to get the word out to people who might enjoy this kind of thing.

You have definitely caught my attention! I have been making custom fan models for the SFC franchise for over a decade now. Coincidentally, here is some of my more recent stuff. . .

I was thinking of making an SFC total conversion, but simply don't have time time. I would be happy to contribute these models and others I don't have pictures online for with no strings attached if it meant getting them into a real game.

Also, to generate interest, have you posted over at brassgoggles.co.uk ? Those people would be all over an opportunity like this!

Wow those are really neat! We want to stay true to some of that SFC gameplay. It's still the only game I can really think of that focuses on combat as it's core mechanic. I haven't heard of Brass Goggles but from a quick check I think you're right about getting in touch with them. Thanks for the help and feedback!

IM, have you ever considered doing up a tutorial on how to do those lovely complex shapes?  I'd love to do a more complicated aeronef myself, but I've not mastered the more complex shapes myself yet.  And others would enjoy the chance as well.

With that and some UV Mapping tutorials, I think it'd help a lot.  :D

(Just sayin'.. )
..ooOOoo..totally useless information..ooOOoo..

Don't bother checking out my website for the most recent updates, because I've
been too lazy to update it!  Check Battleclinic!

That would be a good idea. Currently we hadn't thought about that but it wouldn't be too hard to do. I'm going to ask my artist Tejay about doing a video.
