Experience with Component Video Switch?
« on: October 10, 2012, 11:56:47 am »
My sons gaming gear has expanded from a PS3 with Happauge HD PVR for capture to now include an XBox360. I have component connectors from PS3 to Happauge to TV to ensure HD quality and want to stay HD for the XBox. Since the Happauge is only 1 component in and 1 component out it seems I must  use a component switch from  PS3 and XBox out in component, into the switch, and then out to the single component input on the Happauge.

Thus my question. Anyone have experience with or recommendation for a good component video switch. I'm mostly concerned about signal loss going from console to switch to PVR to TV. I'm currently looking at the following units:

I personally would go with the Philips since they are a brand I recognize, good reviews and well known.. not to say the others are bad but I try to go with the brand with a known history.. for the most part any of these switchs built with decent quality will allow for minimal signal loss, and you can also use shorter and higher quality cables too if you want to throw your money in those for even less loss.. I personally dont find that worth it but others would
