TMP Galileo texture edit
« on: August 25, 2012, 01:39:47 pm »
Having recently gravitated back toward SFC and inspired by both the coincidental open beta release of SFC:CE and discovery of a "lost" cache of models on my hardrive I finished up a texture edit of Kreeargh's TMP/TNG Galileo 5 shuttle I started several years ago.

Nothing "major" in my opinion (and probably most others), I fixed a texture error regarding the tops of the shuttle doors (fixed on the included original textures also), drew a new colorized delta emblem, recolored the impulse intakes (I'd prefer a psudo-3d intake port image but not going to happen with my limited abilities), added some text between the pinstripes, recolored the warp grills, and adjusted the illumination maps to match with a few extra "tweaks" thrown in

Download Here

Edit:

Original:

The type 5 TMP shuttle to my knowledge is seriously underrepresented on battleclinic, in fact the only one I know of on bc (besides the original of this one in the TMP era Federation Ships pack) is another from my collection that I provided and someone here uploaded.

I'd like to ask Kreeargh whether he'd be willing to upload this one as a stand-alone model, the .rar includes all the original textures (with the door texture error corrected), my above pictured edited textures, a second set of the above edit textures with the original red intake, and of course both lit and unlit model versions.

Vipre and public I didnot pack all of those models in 1 download. THAT was the desire of the owners of battle clinic .
I am not a top modeler so well that is that.  ALL my work is made for the public to edit as they want. My only ask is to credit me for the work i did. So have fun!!

I took that as a thumbs up for release so after a bit of foot dragging it's now available at Battleclinic, and as I desired searchable under your name, though I did screw up the title.  ::)

The only Trek movie I do not like is the one you class the model for LOL.
I dont want releases without a proper credit readme file! Copy my orignal and edit it to add moder info . Or make your own.  Readme files are a must to edit and release my work!

 I went with the first option, it includes your original readme with a line added. I don't have any "moder info" beyond that line to add, or least don't know of any I have...was hard enough to think of that line. ;D

The only Trek movie I do not like is the one you class the model for LOL.

Which is ironic because it's the only movie the model appeared in.

For a beautifully detailed TOS companion version of the Galileo (for which the following screenshot does not remotely do justice) grab ChiefBrex's Type 1 also at BattleClinic

Everyone has their idea of God be it religous or anti. Thats not the issue , it for me is about bad script and well totaly lame plot for any Trek theme idea.
The + of Trek 5 is the humor of the cast ,Klingons and the Spocks brother issue I do like it does show the mix in a small part Vulcans and Romulan kin how they can be diffrent but the same.

I think its the fact that they maid it to kirk centric when it really needed to be centered on Kirk, Spock and McCoy and the pacing needed slowed down just a bit .

It was written, in part, and directed by Shatner so "Kirk centric is sort of a given considering the previous two were really all about Nimoy. The pacing I agree was fast and I also didn't enjoy the slapstick/comedic aspect. Granted IV was similar but I'd argue the whole "fish out of water" theme made it necessary even if based on the crew's past experiences with "primitive" cultures and time travel it seemed seriously out of character.
