It's been a long time
« on: July 17, 2012, 04:36:08 pm »
Most of the models that I've been working on the last couple of years deal with late or post TNG stuff.  However, I might be able to dig up an ISC model or two and (if memory serves me correctly ) there is an old model of that USS Alabama and or Missouri burried on the old HD some where !  I'll see what I can dig up !

Hey buddy !

[/waves]

I'll answer the questions you had for me in another thread here  (I thought it better here than to hijack a thread belonging to another).

1.  Nanner is doing quite well.  He now has two daughters:  the oldest is now in the 5th grade  (hard to believe).  He still plays WoW regularly and has a couple of " EPIC" toons.  ( I guess that is a rare thing on WoW.  I have not played that game in two years).  His business is also doing quite well.
2.  Me?  Sold my Bass Boat 3 or 4 years ago.  I have not been fishing since  ( all of my fishing "buddies" with boats have for some reason dissapeared:  go figure ! ).  The funny thing is that I tied my personal best with a 7 # large mouth on the last trip I took with my boat.  I still work an average of 55 hrs.  a week.  I still do some 3-D modeling.  There are a few samples on the internet of some of my work still out there  ( I think).

In any case I'll stop by from time to time and see how things are going and even post  model or two here and there.

I hope you do man. I can't believe Nanners kids are getting that big.

I lost the old web site address, of where we used to hang a long time ago, when I upgraded to win 7, and could never find it again. Do you all still meet there?

I seem to recall you selling your boat, and I just knew you would be pulling those long hours, you will still be doing that I bet the next 20 years LOL, I've never known you to slow down.

Anyways, good to hear from ya man. This really made my day hearing from ya.

It's  been quite a while since I've posted links to one of my models:  are we still allowed to post links to our webs site?  (kinda embarrassing).  I have a link the one of my older versions of the Seawolf class.

Edit:
I'll take a chance that this is ok:   (note to Moderator:  if this is not then please feel free remove link).  Also please note:  It seems like there use to be a way to do URL= (then change the link to a word or phrase).  I have forgotten the proper script for that.  Does anyone remember the proper way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

The Seawolf ever get finished?  I remember you had a few that were nearly finished.

The Seawolf:  was "done" as far as the mesh is concerned.  Then I made a couple of other versions that were posted on the STO forums.  Several seemed to like them.  I also did meshes for an ADD, a couple of Klingon  (those were not as good as I had hoped) ...  an updated version of the Oberth Class  (post TNG) and a couple of  Federation Star Bases.   The USS Alabama  and the USS Missouri...  I'm looking throught some old files.  Seems like we stumbled across a better way to do the secondary hulls and clean up the nacelles  (but that's been a few years back).  The way I do things now is a little different.  I also redid the Titan and a couple of others.  The original Bass Master has also been redone.

Unfortunatly I do not have the expertse to "unfold" the meshes.  I can still do textures...  just no way to unfold or create the original files or format to place them on.  (sorry ... still learning a few things in that area).

edit:

here is a linky to the Nautilus  (just an example of stuff we've done) and the ADD....   just added a Klingon model.  I guess all of this should be put in WIP stuff.  sorry ...  from now on that's where they'll go !

Adam

There are two pods on the ADD:
1.  A deflector
2.  A weapons pod:  two forward torp. and one aft.

The shuttle bay (not shown on these older picts) is located at the back of the primary hull ( at the intersection of the pylons and the primary hull).

(I hope that makes sense)

I have several models myself that need redoing from the ground up.

My only regret is that I did not have the skills I have to day about 10 years ago  ..  (or longer) when the SFC community was thriving.  I would have gladly put togeather a couple of ships, and a star base or two for folks to use.

I released my Resurrection for both Bridge Commander, and also for general 3DS MAX download.  I would have released for SFC, but I would need to do serious poly chopping, as the model is 26k polys.
