Oddly enough I envy you. I live in a place that has seen severe drought for years. The sight of so much water is nice xD.

But I feel sad if you lost much property.

My basement is damp but not flooded. Talked to a neighbor lady who lives on that flooded street I posted and her basement is flooded bad. We got over 9 inches in 24 hours and the storm sewer system just couldn't handle it. We have actually been in a bit of a drought ourselves here but after all that I don't think napalm could get a forest fire going now. The fact that we have a lot of small streams in the city, some are open and some are covered over and when something like this happens those covered streams can blow out causing untold damage. It was one of those covered streams that nailed the steps in the photos. The zoo lost some animals and a couple of harbor seals actually got off the zoo grounds and were recaptured swimming down a flooded street. They would have had a hell of a time recapturing them if they had made it to the river, Lake Superior might have had a seal population.

Update from the news, 10.1 inches of rain and it might not be done.

No people died although there was a near miss when an 8 year old got sucked into a the storm sewer system. As I mentioned the zoo lost several animals along with the polar bear getting out of her enclosure and the harbor seals making a break for the harbor.

PETA has gotten into this. They want the city to charge the zoo with animal cruelty. I won't say what I really want to say so Stephen doesn't have to ban me.
