lost confused and just basically not wanting to read the entire thread

What ship are we talking about, please post a pic, and what are you looking for general ideas, fixes etc?

He's more looking for feedback on all his stuff on his site.  :)

The ship they're talking about is the Academy Trainer.

As far as the input I'm after? I'm wanting to know if colors, details and things of that nature are working for the ships or if I need to start over. Most of what I have posted at my site aren't near being finished, but should give a rough idea as to where things are headed.

Quite a few years ago that model was it a Star Trek exhibit that came to Toronto. Me and my crew at the time of our local Starfleet Chapter went to see the exhibit. I laughed when I saw the model and recognized the top front insignia as coming from a GI Joe Corbra insigina.  :)

I did something similar with Bernard and Leonard McCoy in a TravelPod.. but I used the illumination texture for the image of the cockpit inside.  My reasoning was that if the ship was in light, then the glass would darken and you couldn't see inside anyways.  But when in darkness, you'd be able to see the lit interior.

I'll get to adding more details to the rear of the ship in a few days. Lately I've been working on the underside of it. The thing I'm wrestling with is the amount of details to add. Since it's such a small ship and would probably be put in the slot of a shuttle or fighter..........what's too much?

Before I release this I'd like to have it lit, but the mesh currently doesn't support illumination maps. I can make the maps, if someone can get them working I would appreciate it and if not I'll release it anyway.

I've added a lot more than what is supposed to be on this, so now I want to know if I've gone too far, need to take some away or add more.  :D

It won't be seen in the game I think, but anyone who uses G-max or the Model viewer and want's to make some static images will appreciate the extra texture work.  Looks great by the way  ;D

You could drop the opacity of the panel lines to like 30% and of the bump effects to 50%. Also, with the bump effects, use the actual color of the background instead of the white (and even the black if it looks good enough, it doesn't always).

Adonis, I'll keep those in mind for future retextures. I don't create and keep separate layers(as I go along) to make changes like I should do. It's something I should try to remember to do.  ::)

Kreeargh, since the mesh originally wasn't illuminated it should be fine in SFC1 and atheorhaven was kind enough to illuminate  for me so it should be fine in SFC2/OP. The only thing missing would be a version for SFC3 and if someone wants to convert it before I release it I'll include it in the download.

Here's what the final version looks like.

Keep in mind, the ones that I sent you back were SFC2 ready.  So rename them flox_sfc1 and the ones I sent you flox_sfc2.  Then those with SFC1 can use the originals which aren't illuminated (SFC1) and the SFC2 ones won't crash their game.  :)

I can do a SFC3 version for you as well, I do those too.  ;)

Conversion complete, all files generated, just working on damage textures to complete.

Sorry for the delay on this, work has, as has been usual for the last couple of years, been busy and honey-do lists are filling a lot of time.  :p
