Here's what we have planned:

Servers:

I've already purchased a DL380 G3 frame to replace THOR's chassis. VILI will remain a DL380 G3 and will be a windows 2008 R2 AD server (it's already built, I just have to move the drives over to the new chassis once it arrives and it should just boot). Once it's up and running and I'm ok with it being stable, I'll upgrade WODEN to 2008 and we'll have full 2008 domain functionality.

I have purchased a DL380 G4 (true 64 bit, the G3's are not) and will be loading Windows 2008 Datacenter edition. This server will be named LOKI, and it will be our internal DB server. ALL Databases from FREYJA and THOR will be be moved to this server, in preparation for our roll out of the online campaign management system and career tracking system.  This server will remain internal and will not be exposed to the external world.

I will be purchasing a DL580 G4 in the future to replace our aging DL580 G2. The timeline of this is indeterminate as of right now.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

We have purchased a new APC UPS 1500 as well as a rack mount 2U UPS. This will allow us to run -everything- on UPS's, and have true ordered shutdowns, after which we can shut off the switch gear. Currently, the servers will shut down gracefully but the switchgear will simply remain on until the power expires.

I will be installing / configuring a netcam for a internal steaming view of the DC.  Timeline is unknown.

VILI's up and running very nice.

No issues since the chassis swap and re-activation of winders went fine.

Have memory modules for the 64Bit G4 coming, as well as eight 36G 15K SCSI drives.

Should begin building the DB server next week, will probably rack them both over the weekend, likely on Sunday.
