On swords and breakins.

I had to share this, Jesse , the kid with a sword, is the son of a dear old friend from the long ago when I was in grade school. Leslie is a wonderful mother, and has apparently taught her son well , in the martial aspects of sword play at least. Come to think of it, she was a tough little gal in JR High also.

TULSA - A Tulsa teenager protected himself from an intruder by grabbing a sword around 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

Police say the 17-year-old was home alone in the 5200 block of 36 West Street when he heard someone jiggling at the door. He hit the panic alarm and hid in a bedroom.

Officials say 18-year-old Jeremy Olson then kicked in the front door and entered the home.

The teenager grabbed an old, dull sword and confronted Olson.

Police say the teenager tried to stab Olson, but the sword was too dull, so he hit Olson over the head, breaking the sword.

Officers say Olson fled the scene and called the police shortly after from a nearby residence claiming he had been shot.

Olson was treated and released from the hospital and arrested fro burglary. He is being held for $20,000 bond.

No charges will be filed against the 17-year-old.
