I'd like to see som more picks of the Hydrans. From this  angle looks like Desty Nova's textures would make a good starting point for new textures

Those cruiser hulls might need some variation in their width, they seem to on-the-straight-and-narrow I think.

I forgot how much I loved to build these things but also forgot how much I hate painting them too ... lol.

If the Hydrans were mammilian, I'd think that the shape was purposeful.  But seeing as they're not, it must be for psychological intimidation of mammilian enemies.  ;)

Glad to see you dipping your toe back in the water as it were J, things have been kind of quiet but we're keeping a pulse going.  :)

Nope, I'm saying that Hydrans building their ships to emasculate their male mammilian enemies with a way bigger part than they have is smart psychology.  ;)

Nothing negative intended or implied at all... I like how these look so far, and think that the fleet is shaping up nicely.  :D

ya know...

well Mudd, Mr. Oz

I still don't see any sketches in this thread, just models guess i am getting to old now in my day a drawing board was just that a place for drawing and sketching. Now adays its more of back to the monitor, because no one seems to draw anymore, well except atlom

But if I called this a drafting table, architect's table or a trestle board everyone would be mislead and confused.

After giving it some idle reflection, perhaps I should rename this thread something more like Harcourt Fenton Mudd's (not-so-one-of-a-kind) three-dimensional blackboard for Starfleet Command 2: Empires at War, (or, more simply put --  Mudd's SFC2:EaW 3DBB)

... That's what I get for thinking.

I used to draw a lot (sort of a prerequisite for being a tattoo artist), but I was more of a life drawing sort of guy -- portraits, animals and stuff. Being that my hands are not what they used to be, digital work appeals to me more these days. I still can draw, but I usually don't doodle spaceships any further than Flash Gordon rocket-ships or flying saucers.

But since you asked, here's about as close as I get these days.
(No, it's not exactly new or hand-drawn -- but it IS a drawing of sorts.)

Welcome back Mudd! It´s cool to see you´re still around.
Last week I was just browsing, and refound your old site. Sadly, your ships are no longer there. There is some place where we can still download them? :)
Kinddest regards,

Sadly, no. Even more sadly, many of those old models were lost to me a few years ago. But on a brighter note, the stuff i've been working on for the last couple of months is lower in polycount, higher in detail, and all around just plain better than what I lost. I'll post pics when I'm able (typing on mobile now - interweb took a dive)

Had to switch back to cable because the DSL was so unreliable

You were the author of that ancient Tiberius One shipyard, weren't you? The one with all those kickass blue Mirror Universe repaints? I miss those desperately, including the Refit Connie repaint. It's a miracle I still had the original connie repaint, but I remember some of the Starship museum craft in repaint as well.

Bah, you're all too modest Mudd. Your Mirror universe paints were more distinctive and eye-catching than any other Mirror universe treatment to date, especially in light of the cavalcade of Shock-yellow claw paints thanks to Enterprise. You actually made schemes that were sinister but cool, and with genuine effort.
