Geez, even Ternado shows up, now there's a blast from the past.  I think the Universe is calling us home.

Yup, same old crew, lol.  FPF, KBF, 1AF, our assorted allies and respected enemies.

I find it interesting that this topic has been viewed almost 600 times...and there always seems to be 2-3 "Hidden" users logged in...I'm looking at you, Tracey and Dogmatix...

Lets see, what's new with me...my sister took over taking care of mom and dad...spent a year and a half as the kitchen manager for a group home feeding formly homeless mentally ill folk (very cool job, 'til they shut down the home)...now the Food & Beverage Mngr for our family restaurant (Gatsby's Diner, actually, for those who watch TrippleD, not to toot my own horn)...

Still on XP, still got my OP disc around somewhere, still love old-school TOS SFB models.  ;D

We need to do some IP games then. Running XP as well and have FS' OP 4.1 installed for the Forge. Friday evenings would work best for me. I'll need to install teamspeak again if people want to do this.

Holy Crap, I thought Elf had died or something.  Good to see you're still around.

People still play this game?   Did that new OP+ every become standard?

DDO now (Dungeons and Dragons Online) is my current drug of choice.  We tried getting an SFC turn-based campaign going a few years ago but it kinda faded.  Just too much effort required for the reward.

it's a shame as this was the best combat system in any game I've every seen, I only hope one day somebody else runs with the IP and makes something modern.

I played back alot of SFC:OP back in the day; I remember you Darkelf do you guys remember what happened to ghostrider? I logged onto my old gamespy account under XmarksdaELf and Sonofkorhal and I have Netman on my friendslist aswell as other kbf members. I was apart of a new clan back in the day calld KOL and then I started to affiliate with the Elf on the Op servers on gamespy; there were only a select few of us with elf at the end of names at that time; I used to Dynaverse alot aswell and plan on loading it back up and trying to catch up with some old friends

Glad to see so many people still doing well!

Does anyone think we could drag enough people out of hiding to run a small server?

Maybe more than you might expect, considering......

Wanderer, Capt. Jeff, DieHard123 and Dizzy all walk into a bar...

I wrote a story about that one. ;)

Wow, cool buncha peeps posting in this thread. I hope that server hits warp speed, Frey.

That has the potential to be one of those legendary nights people talk about for twenty years.  ;D  I'd love to hear your take, Dizzy.

At this point in time do we really still need "subtle" hints?

Subtle hints are what a girl always uses.....our fingers aren't large so we have to be careful how we wrap you men around them.

SFC: EAW Community Edition has seen some significant progress recently. This is the version for sale on D.NET for $6, the original SFC:EAW. This work will be a patch, or standalone installer for that.

I don't know how much is 'under wraps', but some information Frey has stated in other threads already is that the code for SFC:CE has been ported to Visual Studio 2010 (which is a significant undertaking). This has allowed us to repair some old bugs. Among them is a working Dynaverse on Windows Vista/7/8, and more.

I hope soon to be involving Beta testers to help find bugs related to the conversion. Most of the big stuff is just about worked out.

PS: There is a reason Frey is *hinting* at the server upgrades.

More details please, is it stable?  Does it's D2 run on modern OSs?  Can we get more than 3v3 in a fleet?  is it still using peer-2-peer or finally going client server?

Unless legal issues are preventing it, and with SVC's IP involved that wouldn't surprise me, the more details the better.
