Starline 2500 models
« on: October 18, 2011, 09:16:02 pm »
Anyone else following the release of the model pics for the new Starline 2500 miniatures, on ADB's facebook page?  Some of these are pretty cool updates to the old classics.  A lot of reference pictures too.

It's about time they did some 3D printing :3 - Good catch, EE.

It'd be awesome if they'd release the models, but there's no way that will happen.  I'd love to see some of these adapted to the game, though (not that I get a chance to play much anymore, but I'm always thinking about it).

I have been following them.  They are the ships styles I most like for the races (since old SFB player here, since early '80s).

They are high poly models since they are to be sent to an injection molding company, so not good for the game.  But, Yeah, I would love to see them in the game.

Yes I've been keeping an eye on that going to the SFB Forums and watching all the work they are putting into them :)

The nice thing is they are giving pics that show relative scale to the more popular vessels as well, so it would seem someone could model some of these up for SFC with a little effort.  Just thinkin' and droolin'.  man, i wish we had an updated game.

ah...the memories...I still have a large collection of the Starline 2300 series....unfortuantly, still carefully packed away in 3 boxes in the closet.
*sigh* I wish I had some glass cases to have them all on display...
