I will be visiting family in Mississippi in August. The plan at the moment is after visiting Mobile to run over to New Orleans for at least a one night stay. My question is do any of you good folk have suggesting for hotels there?

It's been about 15-20 years since I was last there, But if at all possible, Check out the French Quarter, esp. if you are big into Jazz. you won't regret it.

I am actually more interested in swing but i do enjoy jazz. The French Quarter and Bourbon Street are going to be the focus of the stop in New Orleans. That is going to be quite a loop. Cleveland, MS to Mobile, AL to New Orleans, LA and back to Cleveland, I am very glad my cousins car gets good fuel mileage.

Huge swing fan here also my friend. From Glenn Miller to the Duke, I've played and listened to it all. Glad your getting to see that part of America though.

Wish this thread was posted a couple of weeks earlier when my nephew was up here.  He works down there for an oil company, I'll see if I can get a hold of him but that's not easy.
