Toshiba 14FN1
« on: June 17, 2011, 11:24:58 am »
I have an old Toshiba tv/dvd combo that recently died with a dvd in the drive. Would anyone here know how to get the dvd out without power?

Magic screwdriver!  ;D

Does it not have one of those "paperclip" holes to poke in and release the catch?

No such luck on the "paperclip" hole. Hitting the power or the door open button only give a momentary flash of the power light. Bringing it to a shop to retrieve the disc will cost more than buying a replacement.

You can use a butter knife to pry it open, since as you say it is dead. Then it is simple a matter slideing it through the open slots.
