Great pair to poll, close for me but Aliens in the end...

which has a quote I use often - "We'll nuke the site from orbit. I's the only way to be sure."
But The Thing had the best timed NSFW line ever...

This is a tough one because they are really different movies. (I would have paired Aliens with Terminator and Alien with The Thing myself - action/action and horror/horror.)

Aliens is fun to watch, and has a James Horner score. Pew pew pew. And Hudson of course is a plus.

But The Thing is SO effective as a horror movie, and has better acting. So I have to lean that way.

Had to go with Aliens for the superior sci-fi details alone - although I like it better as a movie as well.

Now I really have a nostalgic love of The Thing - but please - the science is patently ridiculous.

Hard to compare - looking very forward to the prequels of each of these two "franchises" when/if they come out!

When I read the title for this poll, I was expecting Monster Zero, Legion, or something similar...

I'm going to go with The Thing in part because it was so much more true to the original story (Who goes there?) by John W. Campbell that the earlier version was.
