I see someone is useing Planetscape Tool for Photoshop, the only problem with Planetscape is that it only supports 8bit colors

aye, Lunar cell is what i'm using, its pretty good for getting started, but I wouldn't use it to create the 'finished' product. Basically use it to create the color maps & bumps, ocean masks, cloud maps and bumps . I do know how to make those, they are just time consuming and a pain in the ass. From there its alot finagling to include retouching, modifciations, additions, subtractions, etc to the maps to get them to look right.
There are a few in which I don't use it, such as actual maps and a few of the rocky ones (such as fire world)
