Sci FI Poll 7
« on: May 05, 2011, 02:33:55 am »
Sorry I was running late, had to rearrange the office to make a spot for another PC I'm building tomorrow.

Silent Running won 9-2

This week is

Forbidden Planet (1956)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/

vs

The Day the earth stood still (1951)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043456/

Two classics from the 50's. Both fantastic films even in this day of special effects.

If I see any Michael Bay movies put up as "science fiction", I'll probably puke.

I still haven't forgiven him for calling Beagle 2 a NASA rover.

Completely off the mark!   you, nor anyone else in no way! can fault a great movie because 50 years later someone decides that it was so good back then, that they decide to remake it in a more modern way, using techniques and CGI to what they consider a better movie!!!

that's not what this thread is for, (bashing. etc.etc.) I don't think SirGod want to star an original vs remake voting post.....or would he? Hummm....

LOL, the sad thing is, I do need to put the remakes up one day , Just to be fair. I'm just thankful this is SciFi and not Cartoons though.

762's head would explode over Baby Huey, Little Lulu, or Gilligans Planet. :D

The problem isn't CGI.  The problem is CGI+piss poor writing.
