To say I need a kick in the ass is an understatement.

My friends, Things like this can happen to anyone. Please check your home for fire safety. we where lucky, and while I tried to make light of it, it could have easily turned serious. I don't want anyone to loose their home, or god forbid a loved one.

Stephen

Glad you (and yer better half) are ok 'ol timer!

 :)

At least you didn't throw water on it - like I did a few years ago - D'oh!!

Only time I ever ran out of the house with out a thought as to my computer!

(pushing my wife well ahead of me)

Thank you for this timely reminder - I will make sure everything is ship shape in my current residence.

I should probably move my comp media backups to my office as well - no reason to push my luck.

Feel better soon!

Sorry to hear about this, Stephen. Im glad you and Mrs Sirgod are ok.

Instead of flour, think baking soda. Its great for grease fires. Its also cheap and you can empty several large boxes into a canister. There's no chance of explosion and it doesnt turn into concrete the way flour will. Just keep the canister within easy reach, but far enough away from any areas where's there apt to be a fire or explosion, such as the oven, barbeque, or you hip pockets after consuming large quantities of cabbage.  :D

No doubt shadow, usually we do have a ton of baking soda around, but it just so happens we threw a ton of stuff out when we cleaned the Fridge/Freezers earlier that week.
