Very cool Personal Mini Sub.

http://www.bornrich.com/entry/raonhaje-s-electric-semi-submarine-ego-is-the-segway-of-submarines/

Like Segway intended to change the world of transportation with its electric scooter, Raonhaje seems to achieving the same in underwater transportation with “EGO,” the world’s first compact semi submarine that doesn’t needs extensive training to be on your own in your underwater excursion. This battery powered boat-cum-submarine can be operated like a car, which explains its electric-car-like looks. An electronic accelerator pedal is applied instead of a throttle lever in the boats to work like the accelerator pedal of a the car. You can control the navigation by adding the direction switch.Besides the floating hull mounted on both sides of the central hull of the ship prevents from the accidents even if the floating hull is damaged.

The windows of the EGO are made of special acrylic materials, mostly used in aquariums to withstand water pressure and enable light transmission for better visibility. It features a top speed of 4 knots for 4 hours, and it runs for 6-10 hours on a single charge. Other equipment includes a monitoring LCD system, battery monitoring systems, VHF marine two way radio, digital depth gauge, foot pedal, compass and clock. The EGO is available in a choice of seven cool colors, including French Rose, Lime Green and pink. The EGO submarine will make its debut at the Miami boat show, which runs from February 17–21, 2011 at the Miami Beach convention center.

I'd rather be in one of these things, although I would have to resist the urge to attack British ships.

What makes you consider it to be "Green Tech"?

Even if it is why should that keep people from talking about it?

He's referring to the link I posted which was an article about a replica of a Revolutionary war sub that was driven by a hand powered propeller, and lit by bio-luminescent fungus.  Since that means zero emissions, I think it can be classified as Green Tech.

In my book old does not equal Green tech.

I didn't see it as necessarily being a joke.  I don't like to see people told not to post legitimate stories.  You will note though that I didn't "don my moderator hat" I merely questioned why people shouldn't talk about it for being Green just as any other poster could have.

What the point of these smilycons? They suposed to show emotion dont they. If I was talking in person to Knightstorm about it i might have laughed and poked him or something , this  :P was the best i could show. I think this is more about bias about me and my words not the subject and I bit those who think so a farwell.

You are free to believe as you want of course but you are wrong.

The "Smiley" you used was not one I would interpret as joking ( a  :) or a  ;) for example) in that context but the tongue sticking out which is to me more insulting than humourous.  That is of course my personal interpretation, you and others might see it differently.

As to your thinking it personal you are wrong.  Firstly I didn't moderate it but made a comment as any other user might have.  Secondly if I did have something personal in it I would have asked someone else to do the moderating.  I've done that in the past when I knew the poster wouldn't take it well coming from me even if I said the same thing as another moderator might.  I DON'T EVER make moderating personal.

There are those who "knee jerk" against anything "Green" just as some do the same about "Fox News".  It appears that I mistakenly interpreted your comment that way.  Just as I would (and have) questioned the objection to Fox as a source I questioned the apparent (to me) objection to something merely for being Green.

Please look at the post you are complaining about.  It consists of 2 brief questions, no attack no "command" to not do something but merely requests for information.  I don't see either of them as being anything resembling an "attack" on you, your posting or your opinion.  Since you interpreted it otherwise my writing was inadequate to present my intent and I apologize for that.

I've been thinking for days, how to approach this, as I think the world of both Kreeargh, and Nemesis here.

First, I enjoyed the article that was  posted Kree, and I got a chuckle out of the comment, even taking it as a joke.

Second, I can understand how the intent behind the Smiley may have been mis read. I think it goes beyond saying, that there was never any effort to insult in any way shape or form.

Now, that doesn't mean I don't understand Nemesis's POV here, IT could be a cultural thing in fact. I'm not sure. I can remember teasing my kids when they where younger, and they would stick out their tongues in the raspberry sort of way.  I never took it as an insult and always laughed myself at it. Now it may be different in Nem's area.

Another example, is when I was in the corp, It was a direct insult when someone talked to you with their arms crossed, but in civilian life, it was just the norm. Heck I even taught a class years ago, on how a variant, one arm across, the other up rubbing your chin, would allow you to get in a BiJong fighting position in micro seconds. Unobtrusive body language to combat in the blink of an eye, but I digress, just wanted to show another example.

I think this was just a misunderstanding here, and I hope that you will continue to feel free to post in this section. I can also understand how Nem came to his conclusion, as over the years, he has a very analytical mind.

ask yourselves this my friends, had this conversation taken place in real time, amongst friends, where we could witness body language, I believe the whole thing would take on a jovial meaning. I believe you all could see it also.

I just wanted to say something, and I hope I have not offended anyone, as I have the utmost respect for us all here.  I ask that we just chalk this up to a misunderstanding, and we get back to having fun with the topics.

The both of you are great, and bring a unique talent to our discussions, One that I have came to cherish in my years here, and I hope that you can see it in each other, as well as yourselves.
