My Kitbashes continued...
« on: January 28, 2011, 08:56:04 am »
Posted for new ideas:

Got inspired recently to go for broke and not care about results. Ended up with my vision of what SDF-3 should have looked like and a good start on a similarly themed ARMD Carrier.

sdf-3 pioneer  SC-Alt-Style

ARMD (UPDATED) TEMP!!!

Finally bashed a zent turret! Unfortunately it's 1600 polys :(

Well, taking a page from ATOLM, I bashed something freaky for nightmare fuel.
No real name yet, two flavors:

New fighter called the SIN, not happy with cockpit/bow so removed it...

Lastly, I was bashing some Star Wars parts together and I think I unconciously channeled some Starfox?

Think I'll go back and try those wings on a RT/Macross Valkyrie varient.

Shout outs to Kreeargh, Model Please, and FOAS!

Shoutout to FoaS? What did I do? >.<

i'm digging it. I would remap a few things on those SDF bashes and go for a bit more detail. I know that the anime stuff tends to lack detail because of its style, but I like seeing embelishments to make it feel more "real". that is just my two cents.

I'm digging the nightmare and that fighter, too :)

Thanks!

Thing is I don't model, map, or really anything...
However after 7 years I really don't care that the Fs2 folks (the game I mod the most) bash me a lot that I don't "learn" how to, or that I use outdated tools that don't confuse me. I only need to know: (port, orient, glue object, delete face).
I know I simply don't have the talent, I know my limits and I'm comfortable with that.
I am very visual though and think I found my niche as a mere kitbasher.

There are times I look at something and a certain part will scream out "Download me! You'll use me for something in a few years! If you don't, you'll be back!!!"  :D

SFC3(Outalance) & the Starshatter communities really took me in and I appreciate all your support and encouragement.

You know I'd practically kill to be able to do what you guys do (as a hobby)...

Actually my latest bash is just a PART of my dream battleship. The main Guns. Thanks to AXEL and KT'HYLA I managed to use 4year old random parts to make something cool. A kind of Railgun, hows that for part recycling?

Eventually you'll have the yellow dot lights on top blink.

Nice work  Dont let low poly be an issue some of the best work ive seen in years is under 2k in poly. Most poeple think high poly rules it dont its for gameing not glory.  ;)

Yea low poly modeling is harder because it still has to look good and you have to be 10X or more better at texturing then in high poly work

Good-looking high-poly might be art, but good-looking low-poly is talent.
