Topic: Enhancement package 5.1 graphics problem

Hi folks.... I'm having trouble after installing the Enhancement Package. The first couple of times I try to start the game it crashes. Then it'll run, but when I start my first mission the star background is nothing but white boxes. The ship models are fine, either the 'stock' ones or the new ones the EP installs. I'm running XP w/SP2, under VMware under Linux. Plain vanilla SFCOP 2.55.2 runs perfectly.

I've tried it with and without the 'install models' option (#2, Patch without models). The space background images should perhaps be backed up beforehand and restored after the EP installer finishes doing its thing? Where exactly are they all stored?
