:skeptic: WTF? Are they on crack or what?

On-Access? Runs in the cloud?  ::)  Requires internet connection?

:cuss:  DO NOT WANT!!!!  :cuss:

I can hardly believe some of what I am reading there. Almost enough to abandon it.

For now, I'm pretty sure I'll still be building my own from source thanks.

Oh crap:

Q8. Are you going to make use of the Cloud in the *nix version of ClamAV?

A8. We are currently investigating the possibilities for using Immunet’s Cloud technology in the *nix version of ClamAV. Once ClamAV 0.96 releases and is integrated into the ClamAV for Windows distribution for offline scanning we will begin planning the next phase of integration. This will hopefully include some integration of the Cloud technologies in the *nix version of ClamAV.

That's it. ClamAV is done. I am very disappointed. This leaves NO acceptable AV solution for windows servers.

I've never tried avast on a server... I'm tempted... but it is so horny with many layers of filters... and on-access scans... nope won't do.

I don't have time time to write a windows server AV product. I just might have to make it myself though... this really sucks.

I have discovered that a current and proper windows build is still available here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/clamav/files/clamav/win32/

Thank goodness. But for how long? I don't want to seem ungrateful though, as ClamAV has served me well. I'll be more positive and perhaps contribute to the old standard windows build releases if they do get dropped.

I was using AVG for a few years but wasn't happy with a few of the latest builds so I switched to Avast.I have been pretty happy with it since and it has game mode in it.

Ive pretty much given up hope for a good AV these days, some are better than others but none are being really impressive atm.
