More mod questions..srry
« on: November 25, 2010, 12:37:15 pm »
I know it's in here somewhere, I just can't find it... >:(

I was told that there is a way to switch back and forth between Mod's...sorta like a mod chooser?

I would like to run Bonks SFC_OP_4.0 mod with the tholians, and play on GSA? [when it's running ] with Firesouls OP+_4.0.
not to mention I want to try out the 4.1 Mod...

So how can I do all this without uninstalling OP every single time......

Please be very detailed with instruction's..

Thank you.
ShadowDiver.

Multiple Installs of OP. I run around with at least 4 on my harddrive: Stock, OP+, OP+ 4.1, FoaSMod. I also assigned different icons to the different install's shortcuts so I don't get confused.

under downloads all there is a mod choser that should do what you are asking
I use to use another one I don't know if it is still around which was all good things which di the same thing

Yup, i use it.  It keeps up to 4 mods and the original install.  Install it first before you install mods and then run it.  After that Install a mod and run it again and it will recognize a new mod having been installed and ask you to name it.  works nice overall - and i suppose you could make it recognize more mods by renaming the folder it uses to store stuff.

Ok...
Let me see if I have this correctly,

1. Uninstall everything. (files, links, folders, icons, etc.etc.) completely.
2. Install OP fresh, install the 2.5.5.2 patch then the server updater patch.
3. Install this mod chooser...mod?
4. run the mod chooser and save like (OP_Original)
5. Install Bonks SFC_OP_4.0 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Bonks)
6. Install Firesouls SCF_OP+_4.0 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Firesouls)
7. Install Firesouls SCF_OP+_4.1 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Firesouls_4.1)

Then what do I do, or how do I change mod's..

Pretty much then you would run the mod choser program to select the type you want to play and then launch SFC like normal and that would be the mod there that you selected

OK..
Now when I install Bonks and save...do I then repeat steps 1 and 2 then install Firesouls and save?
like this..

1. Uninstall everything. (files, links, folders, icons, etc.etc.) completely.
2. Install OP fresh, install the 2.5.5.2 patch then the server updater patch.
3. Install this mod chooser...mod?
4. run the mod chooser and save like (OP_Original)
5. Install Bonks SFC_OP_4.0 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Bonks)
6. Uninstall everything. (files, links, folders, icons, etc.etc.) completely.
7. Install OP fresh, install the 2.5.5.2 patch then the server updater patch.
8. Install Firesouls SCF_OP+_4.0 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Firesouls)
9. Uninstall everything. (files, links, folders, icons, etc.etc.) completely.
10. Install OP fresh, install the 2.5.5.2 patch then the server updater patch.
11. Install Firesouls SCF_OP+_4.1 mod, run mod chooser again...and save like (OP_Firesouls_4.1)

If not...and I can just install over the previous mod then why is everyone telling me to uninstall everything and reinstall fresh every time I want a new mod?
Why have I been wasting my time uninstalling anything? again if I don't have to uninstall then I don't really need this mod changer, I just install the mod I want to play and run with it right..

Get this and fallow all instructions don't install OP+4.1 untill it is fineshed. When you do unistall OP+4.0 then install OP+4.1 and download GameRanger forget about GSA.
