I just try to help others though my "help" ends up being low rez or "out of date" by the time the model is needed.  All i can do is create and with it be used somewhere somewhat. Most likey the looky file not used but a look at 1 time theme.

Somtaaw is a Kiith (or clan) in the Homeworld-verse

To elaborate for those who don't know;

The Homeworld saga has three games. The second one, Cataclysm, was created by a company other than Relic, the makers of Homeworld 1 and 2 (This was Barking Dog, which seems to have become Rockstar Vancouver). I disagreed drastically with the story that resulted, seeing it as an attempt to turn the unique universe of Homeworld into some mainstream sci-fi disappointment.

So I launched a project in where I would try to change this and present the Homeworld Cataclym story how I would have desired it to be. The fleet from Kiith Somtaaw (The protagonists of the game) was largely comprised of spaceships with one gimmick on them to make them functional, toys essentially. I sought to replace them and in doing so created a different style for them.

Coupled with switching which race was really the Exiles from HIigara (Taiidan in this case, instead of the canonical Kushan), most of the resultant craft designs were blocky and utilitarian. I also downgraded many of the super capital designs, since I figured no mere mining clan would have access to ships more powerful than those in national fleets.

Kreeargh here has modeled the escort carrier, which while it can produce fighters, it cannot manufacture frigate vessels (as its canonical counterpart can). It was designed as a quick means to deliver Somtaaw assets to places and watch over mineral collection efforts without needing the mothership nearby.

I guess I''m not surprised that it's grouped with other Macross designs, since it does borrow from DYRL? styling.

I'm not offended. I would have done some things differently than the way you implemented them here, but I think it's something all concept artists feel when people set forward and realize their drawings in another medium.

And believe me, I have had drawings of mine butchered by the modelers who said they would realize them.
