Quote
The Hobbit has finally got the green light and will be made in 3-D with Sir Peter Jackson in the director's chair.

Shooting will begin in February.

The announcement was made today jointly by New Line Cinema - which bankrolled The Lord of the Rings, its parent company Warner Bros and MGM.

The announcement did not state whether the two-part prequel to The Lord of the Rings would be shot in New Zealand.

Matt Dravitzki, Jackson's assistant at Wingnut Films, said an annoucement on the place of filming would be "probably a week or two away".

We all know you want it Stephen.  You just haven't yet figured how to convert your cattle porn collection to 3D.

I find that the frames of the glasses are very annoying it is like looking through portholes.  I have the same issue with safety glasses.  Too much peripheral vision I guess.

For me 3d means a holographic imaging TV with the projector either above or below and viewable from all sides.

I second the motion. 3D is nothing but a fad, an expensive one at that, and like all fads will run its course. In order for 3D to be more than a fad it must work without any special glasses or other hardware that the viewers must wear.
I am alright, it is the world that is wrong.

LOL Bad 3-d porn is bad.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1642252/ and the rest of the series. The Big Tits zombies  is supposed to be 3D also.

@ Brush wolf, I agree 100%. I could almost even settle for those old school red/blue paper glasses ahead of what they have now. but how much of a production is spent and wasted on making something 3-d as apposed to I don't know, getting a descent Writer to actually come up with something interesting?

Seeing Steve Martin for example singing "I want to be a dentist" in 3d isn't gonna make it any funnier, anymore than watching Yentil in 3d just won't scare the kids more or make it any better. Look out her nose, it's coming right at us.

See you do have the cattle porn.  Or at least movies about udders which is close enough.  I always preferred quality over quantity myself.

Those glasses always gave me headaches, I could never watch a movie all the way through.  Of course I haven't tried them since giving up caffeine (which along with other things gave me eye strain) so who knows if I could use them now.

That was the first (and one of the few) time I actually liked Steve Martin.  Too often he just seems to use his "The Jerk" persona rather than acting the role and I don't find "The Jerk" the least bit amusing.

I was thinking about that movie earlier actually (liitle shop of horrors) and I know I have it here at the house, but damned if I can find it anywhere. I'm wondering if I loaned to one of my boys or something.

I wish that this 3d fad would die off as well, these movies give me a headache...I have to take pain killers just to make it through the first hour or so, and then more to finish the movie.  I always go to the 2d showing if they have one, and the only movie that was actually worth the 3d thus far was avatar IMO.
