Agreed... it's looking good man.. :D

(edit: Btw everyone, Starfox already has the new illumination textures for the Endeavour, Bunker Hill, Doohan and the blank set as well.  Just updating the thread so people don't wonder about them, if anyone was.)  ;)

Registries look clean, base textures look good.  Windows are the only issue I can see, they look a bit low res and not crisp, and you have windows on the backs of the nacelle pylons which I'd recommend losing.  ;)

Ship looks good but the pylons on the ship are reflecting the ships age.  Would love to see ita kit bash one of these days (maybe I can do it) where his pylons are replaced with something a bit higher poly..

Thoughs arn't windows, they are sensor palet intalation points. The are on the studio model. They just never took the tome to paint them like they did on every onther model. Window in generall are probaly going to have to be redone at some point. As far as a pylon bash goes some body would need to build another model first as DJ Curtus and LC Admiral won't cut release permissions for their stuff any more :( Thats why I didn't try it this go round.

Think we could see a top-down of that Hydran craft?
Curious what you did with the TOS design.

Ah my Monarch retexture. Its Thu11's model with some parts and the Textures from Destynova's Paladin DN. What you think?

Another Question how do you scale models for this game?

Well, the Thulls Gorn Romulan and Hydran fleet used in SFC: OP+ have a model size file that dictates the ship sizes. If you want more specific info. the model gurus can help with that.

I'd like to see this texture set released as an additional option.

The texture is just Destynovas standard texture. I remaped the model. I'm a bit tied up on the other ships right now but I'll see about a release when I get done.

Endeavour is completed, will send that to you tonight.  Was working on Bunker Hill yesterday, but had to pause while we went out to go get a cat.  Will continue when I get home tonight.  :)

Great! Theres no rush just get it when you can.

Today I have some pic of a team effort. The majoraty of the texture changes are by a buddy named Jetfreak form over in the A2 community. I did the markings on her and the model changes. Base model is the good old P81 Constitution refit. Its a dominion war refit

Hello Starfox would it be possible to get a picture of the stern of the Wyvern ?  Thank you in advance

these Ambassador variants look great, the Excelsior is not that good looking to me, as the P81 textures look more like the Hull is made out of ceramic hullplating than out of metal.

I like that Connie with the aft firing tube! I hope you'll release a standard TMP version with the aft tube.

They do look kind of ceramic, but I also think they're fairly representative of the look of the ship.  A lot of people like the variant looks, but I always thought that the original look was pretty clean, and I'm a fan of it personally.  My thought is that I like to see ingame what I've seen onscreen from time to time on the canon ships.   Always thought the ceramic look was that it was a spray-on coating like Tremclad or Rustoleum to help protect the hull from "sandpapering" from micrometeorites or such at impulse.

Well just working with what I have :)

I like that Connie with the aft firing tube! I hope you'll release a standard TMP version with the aft tube.

there are 3 versions, a late TMP one that went into production in 2295 to replace the oldest refit constitutions whose spaceframes where waring out, a 2330 refit which resembles the DS9 Mirandas, and the DW refit which started in 2373.

Another installment. This time we have Several examples of the regular production Excelsior. As you know this class remained in production for at least 50 years with cannon registries running into the 43000's.  Most of these ships represent the style of the TMP era markings which remained on the model through out TNG's TV production Of note are the Hood and Jakarta. Hood represents the DS9 CGI model and Jakarta is a fanon early TNG production run which explains the high number.

My friend Jetfreak gets equal creadit for these a he did the first round of tweeks and designed the basic look of Jakarta.

C&C please ;D

I'm not the biggest fan of p81's excelsior either. Still - the tweaks are looking good :).

Nice job all around. It would be nice if you included the original NCC-2541 registry for the Hood (that was the registry placed on the ILM model for Encounter at Farpoint, but it was later forgotten and switched to the five digit one we know now.)

Nice work. The USS Doohan is one of my favorite all time Connie models for SFC.

Thanks

Got the other half of the Excelsior family here. First 3 are just standard fare, Enterprise, Lakota and an erly TNG model named Forester.

Then We have Tyho; a color variation produced at the Antares Naval Yards.

Lastly is my take on Ingraham; the second SCS from the Excelsior program. Originally conceved by Todd Gunther as an alternate transwarp prototype. I have taken the idea and attempted to create a prototype for the Mk2 hull. The idea is that the Mk1 would be exploration hulls and the Mk2s would be Battlecruisers. In the wake of the failure of the Transwarp Drive and the "reorganisation" of StarFleet after the Khitomer Accords the Mk2 hull was radicaly altered to the form we know as Enterprise B and Lakota. What you all think?

Right there is one of the biggest problems with Windows, XP and on.  the "activation" mechanism.  Just waiting until that's retired along with XP SP3 going away.  Then you're going to hear some screaming...

The laptop I use for modelling on still has Windows 2000 on it for exactly that reason.  I have all its bibs and bobs for a reinstall, and no "phoning home" to check and see if I am a dirty criminal even when I legitmately bought the OS (in this case, came with the laptop OEM).

You should be able to access your data and back it off using a Linux LiveCD like Mepis or TinyME (something that supports united file system), and just have an external drive plugged in when you boot it up.  You should be able to back it all up at your leisure to your external then.  And then its all safe if you have to reformat the drive and go a different OS.

That's one of the problems though running codes or cracks, eventually Microsoft catches up and in this case, your only option to buy a new OS would likely be Windows 7 with XP Mode (if the hardware supports it).  Or XP off eBay, or in town (that may put you in exactly the same place).

First things first though, get a Linux LiveCD and back up your data.  Then whatever happens to the OS, you at least won't lose anything that you were working on or that you downloaded.  :)
