The Star Spangled Banner bring hither,
O're Columbia's true sons let it wave.
May the wreaths they have won never wither,
Nor it's stars cease to shine on the brave.

That brought a tear to my eye. How touching, but oh how we've changed. If astronauts attempted a soap box religious message like that in this era, they'd be booted from nasa faster than a scrubbed mission launch, just imagine the minority and media public outcry.  Sad to see how far we have fallen. I dont see it as progress. I see it as 1 step forward 2 steps back.

it makes me very emotional as well. as soon as i see the astronaut on the moon i about lose it. is it christian oriented? sure but so what, the message is good. it is all the same god, the vocabulary is what is different about religions. this just makes me want us to go to mars even more and frustrated that we can't get past stupid little things in our lives that we make out to be "huge"

It's a consensus, Loved Book Of Eli.

It really hit home, considering I have a blind Aunt.

I actually hated the film.  I disliked the concept behind the film.  And I really didn't buy into the idea that God guided Eli's hand so well that despite the fact that he was blind, he was able to easily shoot a bird out of the sky.

It is skill, practice, good hearing, and luck.

The movie was very Fallout 3 for me, so was good. Will agree not the best movie but best I've seen at the time.

I never picked up that he himself was blind, Just the bible was in brail.

Heck I know a lot of people who can see and read brail just fine.

Watch again, and look at his actions. Picking his direction to walk he sees where the sun is by looking up to see which side of his face is warm, and the angle of the sun. He had lots of litle tells he couldn't see. At least it is what I picked up.

there are also a few scenes where he demonstrates that his other senses are heightened.

I guess I was just too excited with the Fight scenes being based on Jeet Kune Do. Even if it was that Scrub Inosanto and not Wong who helped in the film.

Roy Rodgers used to shoot his six gun from the hip and take out cans 30 feet away six at a time. Dont tell me that someone cant use hearing and extra sensory perception to do uncanny things. Did you know I beat 2 other battle cruisers and a drone cruiser with my battlecruiser in a nebula, just me vs them with one arm tied behind my back and I couldnt smell anything either. My allergies. :P

uh, he was not blind, his grandmother or mother was (i can't remember which) no where did it say he was blind. the book even has him as a fully sighted person but knew braille for his blind relative.
