Not that I've played much SFC since I got my 24" monitor, but, I run it in 1920x1600 when I play. It does make some things slightly streched, but, after a while you don't even notice.
I run prety much all the games I play at that resolution with few if any issues.

no can do - what i used to do was set the game in Windowed mode at 1600x1200 and leave the Teamspeak window in the side.

I hate the distortion.  I just set the aspect ratio to 4:3 and live with a part of my screen not being used.

I was hoping that there was a hack or something, but I can deal with running in 4:3, no big deal.

there are two other options

a)  Some monitors have settings that will automatically adjust it to the proper aspect ratio, ie if 4:3 on a 16:10 monitor it will be shown as 4:3 and not stretched

b)  Most video card drivers have the option to do the same as above

Actually, you'll find it's usually the drivers for the video card, not the monitor.

Must be a fairly nice monitor. Mine's a cheap Hanns-G. It just doesn't seem to have such an option.

My monitor has the option also.  Its an asus, and it wasn't particularly expensive.

Mine was supercheap, as retail goes. I could have waited a few days and gotten one from newegg that cost less, but I couldn't stand the second-hand CRT I had at the time a moment longer.

That's where I got mine.  I chose to deal with my dying CRT for a few more days.

No dude thats called alt tabbing out. You need to open the ini txt file in the main directory. Set windowed to 0 or 1 and try it out then.

[3D]
wireframe=0
windowed=1
zbuffer=1
lowres=5
driver=0
backdrop=1
shipstacking=1
ambientlighting=0.3
luminancetextures=1
luminancedamagetextures=1

That is a partial list of the sfc.ini file located in the OP main directory. You can add vollyinfo and other things to this list. Search for sfc.ini for more info.

Dizzy, what is the lowrez=5 equate to.  Mine is lowrez=3?  Does anyone know the settings?

Belay that, I see.  It is the setting for resolution, *messing with settings to see what changes*
