finally after months of waiting we can all download and play mechwarrior 4 for free! no more endless patching only to have some peoples' install work and others not. no more figuring out patch order! no more figuring out mod install order! w00t!!!

direct link to install .exe is here: http://www.mektek.net/mtx/beta/SetupMTX1.0.1.7.exe

the site is being hammered! (good sign imho) so i would use the direct install link. it installs a patcher that will download the actual game content
