Changing the start date of a campaign
« on: March 29, 2010, 03:48:24 pm »
Does anyone know how to change the starting year of a campaign in EAW/OP? I would like an early era campaign to start around 15 years earlier than it actually does, so around 2250.

Thanks!

Not sure if that will work. Never tried. But this is what I would do to test:

\MetaAssets\ServerProfiles\SinglePlayer\Time.gf   -> BaseYear   = 2250

Or you could just slow the clock down if starting in 2250 does not work (which I do not expect it to as you'll need to adjust a considerable number of YFAs in the shiplist or the singleplayer server will barf when trying to create AI)

You could try 10 turns per year and 120000 milliseconds per turn to quadruple the length of your campaign instead.

Thank you Bonk, I tried your first suggestion and it worked.

Ahh, you're right, it made the year appear different, but the ships still came out as they normally would (like B-refits for Klinks only two years after the start, whether that is 2265 or 2252). I'll try the second suggestion.
