Adding Ships to SFC:OP without corrupting your campaign
« on: June 02, 2010, 04:39:35 am »
Hello all my fellow startrek fans :)

This maybe a very basic question so I'm sorry if it's been covered, I cannot seem to find my answer. I edited a couple of existing stock ships and added a couple of new ones to SFC:OP v2.5.5.2 and used the appropriate version of Shipedit to do so, I cannot remember the shipedit version # but I do know it was the specific one for SFC:OP.

The ships I added and the ones I edited all work perfectly in the Skirmish modes, however I already had a saved ongoing campaign I was playing and noticed things have gotten a little quirky in my campaign now, the wrong ships appearing for the types listed. An example of this is one time a klingon C7 battlecruiser showed up as a Lyran frigate, instead of a planet to attack there is a freighter. My campaign also crashed to the desktop whenever used a ship I edited. I am wondering if perhaps my saved game is now corrupt since I edited those ships after I already started my campaign?

Is there a way to avoid this from happening or is this the nature of the beast, or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks everyone for reading, and any info or advice is appreciated.

The shipedit you want is shipedit for op but you must also dl shipedit for eaw.I would also do a clean install of op and delete the game fileas for your models just reinsert them. You can get shipedit eaw and op from the main site or staryards.com.Good Luck.

I also tend to have multiple OP installs. One stock, one OP+, one for when we were doing that turn-based campaign, and one for my own mod. I then just have multiple shortcuts on my desktop
