I'm only 40 seconds in but I think I know where this is going. A complete 3d vector graphics implementation? I guess I'll watch the rest of the video and find out!
OK, 2 and a half minutes in and now I think he might be going the way of real time raytracing? But of what kind of model data? Whee! The suspense is killing me!
4 minutes in now and they're talking raw point cloud data? That is rather brute force and inelegant. Unlimited point data on current processors in software? I dunno... that is going to take one hell of a trick. (would be awesome for complex molecular orbital modelling and crystallography though if really possible). I'm on the edge of my seat, waiting for the penny to drop... what is the catch?
Ah, the catch is they don't really explain how. THere might be an SDK? That would be cool. I must check out the website now.
Not much there for now. I'll be interested to see if they actually do release an SDK. Currently I think their problem with promotion might be the excessive detail in the art used to demonstrate the technology. The scenes are just too busy and don't really show the advantages they are talking about. A better demonstration is in order. A single human model say?
Thanks for passing that on Kehakoul.
