Are they based on the real Trek or Abrams' perversion of it.  Also, I don't see Paramount licensing out games with a strong multiplayer component as that would compete with STO.

I can see multi-player in the vein of SFC style.  Limited numbers.  STO claim is the MMO part of it.

That's another thing.  While I am not privy to Frey's negotiations, I wouldn't be surprised if STO was what was holding up the permissions for SFC4.  Think about it.  With more players in PVP, and an improved dynaverse, SFC4 would stand to compete with STO.

The same thing had occured to me.  I don't see how anybody with a cash cow like STO would stand still for any competition.

We have one, it's called OP.  it just has crap network-code and doesn't work in Vista/W7.

I think it's the best game for PvP duels (I'm on Vista and GSA works fine), and will be for a long time unless there is a SFC4. The problem is that with the crappy network code and modern OS trouble being so newb-unfriendly, it's not going to have any more players that what there already is. And it looks like the difficulty getting Dyna to work with Vista/W7 is the reason why the numbers for OP are dwindling nowadays.

Yeap. That is why it would be nice if Interplay updated all their games for the new OSes out there and DX.I doubt the competition between STO and SFC4.

Quick DieHard, Plot a course around the sun. I have this slingshot theory we can use to fix the game...

Taldren split off from Interplay.  Taldren is no more.
