Any way to stop a starbase's rotation?

Or did I overlook a simple thing in the shiplist? (I always use a text editor, so it's always out of whack here *grin*)

no you haven't. Starbases, because they are unmovable, they have to use ECM and rotate to:
1) get an ECM bonus being harder to hit.
2) rotate to empty all it'a arsenal.
3)So it can recover any lost shields (if any).

Although you can try compensating it's ECM and movement, by moving with it, and using ECCM.
(When you encounter a starbase , in 99% cases it has the ECM turned to 4 or up)
You have an advantage that you can move, and by moving with it, you can hit it where it does the most damage.

EDIT: Bonk, you're right. and it's a simple thing to do as well. Just destroy it.
If you capture it though does it rotate backwards?

So there is no way to stop a starbase rotation then... Babylon 5 looks really silly rotating in SFC.

Rotation is part of the AI code (I believe) as it is just turning, has nothing to do with movement so removing it engines will not fix it.  When you play a SB you have to tell it to turn or it sits and doesn't rotate.

When I built it and was testing the one I released, I had it set as some form of base, but can't remember the type right off.

See, this is one of the reasons why I like to get feedback when I release, to catch stuff like this.  ;)

Wasn't there an option for a Turn Mode F or G or something that made the object (like a planet) unable to turn? I'll have to check . . .

Could you re-classify it as a shipyard, shipyards don't rotate, right?

I believe planets don't rotate as the AI doesn't tell it to.

There are the good suggestions! I'll give 'em a try... thanks!  (of course, if someone had the now-mythical "sci-fi mod" shiplist, I wouldn't have to try and reinvent the wheel *grin*)
