WANTED: LOST SOURCE CODE
« on: January 05, 2010, 05:04:51 pm »
Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some source code I have lost. I am hoping someone from these forums might've snagged and kept a copy. I cannot seem to find any copy online. My backups are far away and unavaialble (I moved from Ottawa, Canada to Silicon Valley, California!)

Namely:
  • coopace 4.0 sources
  • ShipList.20050118.zip

If you have either of these 2 items, PLEASE let me know!

From: http://klingon.pet.dhs.org/sources_and_utils/
Quote
# coop-ace-4.0.exe (for both SFC:EAW and SFC:OP)size: 407K
# .. I think I lost the sources for 4.0 :(

Coop-Ace has always been the key example of use for the ShipList API. Scripters, if you're interested, it's here:
  http://klingon.stasis.ca/sources_and_utils/ShipList.20050118.zip
Edit 2010-01-03: lost the 20050118, but still got: http://klingon.pet.dhs.org/sources_and_utils/ShipList.20031117.zip

(Full list of archive dates of that page)

;)

Give the download links some time. The shiplist API I got from there is attached to this post. (I'll try and grab coopace too)

Do you happen to know what the posted Coopace 4 source filename was?

Look what else I found: http://pet.dhs.org/~firesoul/  (snicker... ;D)

More specifically:
http://pet.dhs.org/~firesoul/sfc2/

No coopace four there though I think. I don't know if you knew that was still there or not. If not you may want to grab some of the old stuff there. I found both on this search:
http://www.google.com/search?q=Mul_CoopAce

I have most of my old stuff as is. And yea, you're right, at this point I'm just missing Mul_CoopAce.40.*  (sources).

PS. Bonk, do you use MSN?

No, I don't use MSN or ICQ or AIM or anything like that.

Odd, I thought we were hosting klingon.pet.dhs.org ... :

Were you aware of this? Freyja was at one point correctly configured to serve klingon.pet.dhs.org (I did it) but now the web server on it is trying to listen for klingon.stasis.ca headers. (non existent domain) WTF?

Are you using Spry Hosting in Seattle? Did you and Frey talk about this? Did you guys tell me and I have forgotten?  Concerned here...

Perhaps I should use MSN...  :-[

stasis.org belongs.. belonged to a personal friend of mine. I guess he simply stopped caring about it. Maybe I can snag it up sometime?

pet.dhs.org is mine, and I control what I want to do with subdomains.

dream.pet.dhs.org is a small VPS I rent to do some nifty comcast-bypassing tunneling for my emails, as well as host the klingon.pet.dhs.org site I had from old backups I happened to still have.

Cool, thanks for the update/explanation. Just let us know if you need backup hosting sometime again.

I'll fire up my old pc tomrrow. There's a chance it might be on there. (coopace 4 sources)

Depending on the age of the NSIS installers the code may be recoverable from the exes, using 7-zip 4.47 beta, I think was the version that decompiled/extracted the installer script itself (symbols truncated?). Newer versions of 7-zip skip the installer script when extracting an NSIS installer.  I'll take a look on the old PC for any of your NSIS stuff too.

No sign of the coopace 4 source on my old pc, but I have not gone through my CD and DVD backup disks yet. There are dozens of them (no organisation at all - all labelled STUFF99-01, STUFF99-02 etc..), it is quite a chore. I used to have a 7 cd changer but it was slow. I need one of those 500 cd jukeboxes or a robotic tape array or something! Anyway, I'll go through the old CDs at some point this week.

Oh wait, there is another partition to check on the old PC...

Zip or rar it and upload it to our community ftp. (resources thread in the resources and feedback board) or use the repository upload page (http://www.dynaverse.net/repository_upload.php).

Note that both scan uploads with ClamAV. Not sure of the current status on false positives. But if you upload it and it does not appear, that means ClamAV thought it was a virus, though it usually flags clickteam installers more often than nsis installers.
