Should I be replacing my ships on Battleclinic
« on: December 28, 2009, 09:21:39 am »
I've been going through them and redoing textures, using higher rez and some new things I have learned.

Should I bother?  This is my old Protobop cleaned up, TOSified, and using 512 maps.

Nothing like what you all are doing, but, it looks better to me.

I say yes.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

If you would rather not use Battleclinic, I can hook you up with a download login at my site, too

Its your choice do what you want to do, we of coarse have the other choice
do we wait to see what you will do or pester you to do ones we want.

either way new ships mean more ships and we all like that
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

America-Not the land of the free anymore...
Its the land of the freeloaders

Remember the axiom of big government bureaucrats: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. When, finally, under the crushing weight of taxes and regulation, it stops moving, subsidize it.

Ok so the baby bops are up now, and as usual I did my best to screw it up.  First  upload went to alternative universe.  bleh.  Second upload did fine, but something kept nagging me.  Oh, right.. engine deck.  there isn't one.  Like in the first pic in this thread.. doh.

So, got the right maps, got everything ready, then put the colored map in both folders and uploaded.  Yup, thats right, loading modelviewer from wrong file.. and so I sent a very colorful TOS bird to DL.

Finally, I have them both, and right this time.  Gawd.

Ok got more birds up, this one, the valQuis, is one Khemarra Ironhand beat on me till I did it, I think I despised the stock taldren DD nearly as much as I did the stock kcl.

I liked the ship when done, I like it more now, and I've always liked the little ball turrets I scattered around on it.

few more panel lines to crisp up, some minor illuminations and she will be up.

We used ur models because they were well done and low poly and didnt lag anything when we had a crap load of them flying at the same time. Used em for Frigate Squadrons one server. Glad you're tinkering again. Fun stuff.

Wow, that's quite a before and after. My only complaint is that in one spot you kept the black and red bit nice and sharp while fading it on the wings. I think you shoulda kept the vibrantness of it on the wings too, but either way make it either one way or the other, rather than one peice fade and once peice vibrant. Either way, a ship I would have passed over before for being too old now looks awsome. If I ever get back to work on my tos bc mod I'll look ya up.

good catch, yah, the difference looks bad, thanks, I may just do a plain wing and a vibrant and just pack em in a folder with the fix.

Im thinking of doing a rom of it anyway, someone did, but it was really really glowie shinie birdie.

edit, K, vibrant wing, new plain wing, and the zip will have the original wing as well.

Ill get the new up later today.  BTW that wing marking is a stylized Batleth, something Ironhand wanted at the time.   I see he posted on the STO boards recently.

Heh, with the new systems today, I think my little protobop would make a good klingon Psuedofighter for those mods that use them.
Tis funny to me that 6-700 poly fighters are norm today.

Starfleet Museum D4 up and done.  I love this clunky old girl.

Has anyone else ever done one?  I've never seen one but mine for SFC.  I do know there were some 3d models around.

Oh BTW I have Andurils original D5 if anyone wants it I can upload it, I don't think its on Battleclinic.

Andurils D5 is up, the dl has the original download and maps of Jays in a separate folder,  and a retextured version I just finished.

I also threw in a modfile for the ship without the fighter attached.

I had permission from a long time back to retexture his oldies.  I've got some here with hand drawn registries he did, waay back.  Detroit, Polaris, Pacatrix etc.
