Lookiing to pimp-out my game, possibly add them to the SGO mod. Low-polly is a must as we're using SFB fighter counts (24 on a CVA, ETC . ..). Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Diehard,
My fighters are 400, 490, 536, and 522 triangles (for broadband it should be fine, we can run some tests if need be). I can dumb them down just a smidge more, but not by much. (just to let you know, the stock fft is 332 triangles)

You already have thu11s' custom F-14 and F-15 models (which is 188 and 194 triangles respectively), but there is also an F-111 at his site that has the same look as the stock fft. I know F-111s aren't in the game, but it'd be a good heavy fighter (A-10 and what not).

Most other fighters that have been made are TNG/VOY styled, not TMP. (there's a few TOS styled ones but I never liked them).

Bombers are slightly larger heavy fighters, ground-based for the most part. Knda like PFs. They're in Module J2.

t00l, I guess we'll be seeing these suckers on planet assaults, it's the next thing we need to think about as I think we've got base-battles figured out. Dizzy defense Platforms can work as PDUs.

A quick bomber bash made from my F-111. Needs to be reunwrapped in the places where it's stretched, but that's the concept.

Edit: Changed the Proportions of the bomber's wings and scaled down the nacelles so they aren't fraking huge

Okay, Finished the bomber (with alternate textures, too).

Those suggestions work perfectly, the models kind of remind me of the Transformers Autobot that was a plane.

thats because the design of that transformer was lifted from Macross/Robotech, which is where I got all these designs from.

Given enough time, yes - I planned on making a light and heavy fighter for each race, plus a PF and possibly an INT. A bomber on top shouldn't be hard.... How much do you care if I take my own liberties with it?

DH: feel free to include any of my models into any pack you make - just keep the readme intact.

How much do I care? Not a lot. My main thing is racial flavor, so I'd say if you stick close to the SSD you're probably on the right track.

I like to see lineage, like Fighter > Heavy fighter > Bomber > Heavy Bomber. But that's just a personal preference.

Also, riker has a fighter that goes with the interceptor class..and someone else (was it achilies?) did an interceptor witha fighter I have it (same fighter riker did..not sure which is of better quality) but they are both low poly. The Fighter looks more voyager era.

Since the Gorn use bought federation fighters with Skolean mercs as pilots - thought it best to just retexture my existing Fed fighters... I will probably change the paint pattern instead of just recoloring the existing red.

I tried to remake the look of the old SFB gorn insignia - that orange triangle. I was going to go back to the old lyran symbol from SFB and play with that, too. easy thing to change, though. In the new render I've already changed the colors (so that white is on the outside, like in SFB).

Too late about the "Crazy" but it would be super crazy not to see you build a new Gorn Fleet from that GCA...

I'm in at least partial agreement with KF . . . although I'm not the best person to assess your mental health

, a fleet based on Atolm's battlecruiser is a near mouth-watering proposition! I myself have taken a feeble stab at re-texturing an existing Gorn or two to fit but new, more like designs would be much more desireable!

It's easy enough just to take the texture into photoshop or something and play with the color. You can get a nice olive drab. I've played with the skin of this model and made a passible Gorn paint-job. Still, I like the egg-shaped hulls of the ships that came in the Dynaverse Model Pack. If someone would do an entire X-ship fleet, then I'd like to have a set. I'd like to have a set for all the races, for that matter.
