Phillipino phenom Manny Pacquiao beat up Miguel Cotto who at one time was considered a "pheom" himself.
http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/izenbergcol/index.ssf/2009/11/izenberg_in_taking_down_a_bigg.html This sets up a superlight between Pacquiao and undefeated, unperturbed, and lightning fast defensive whiz Floyd Mayweather. Nobody has been able to figure this guy out and he is bigger and stronger than
Pacquiao ... and some believe faster.
My opinion of Pacquiao is that I can't predict him. He's extremely fast with his legs and hands and has surprising power in either hand. He can take a punch.
Like Sugar Ray Robinson he's lost some fights but he continues to get better and better with each fight. He's now moved out of his natural weight class anbd fights bigger men.
From a critical standpoint you can say that Pacquiao has beaten fighters on their way down. Thats De La Hoya , Hatton, and Cotto were all fighters who had suffered recent defeats and De La Hoya was considered over the hill. However, Cotto's loss to Margarito (a fierce body puncher and brawler) has been tainted by news that Margarito wasusing an illegal substance in the wrapping under his gloves that made his fists heavier.
