Scippy said he was looking into some of the free forum stuff. If he comes up with a new forum, I'm sure he will post it here.

Might take advantage of the time gap (hopefully short) until we get word.

Well..to be honest I wouldn't be opposed to having the forum open for anyone to post in.

I like that in principle, but what I've noticed about forums like that is that trolls seem to enjoy popping in with alarming frequency. That and the fact that I don't like my posts to be possible google hits.

You know what, in the mean time, who has access to the google group set up by stephen as a more riské version of the bewbies thread? Perhaps not everyone is interested in the files or pictures there, but that is one possibility as an interim discussion zone for politics...

Well, for the most part we wouldn't need much in the way of moderation. Trolls can be quickly removed.

Like I said, I like the gated community idea. I would definitely like some new blood, fresh views, but I would like a smidge of privacy as well

That looks promising, do you want something right here and now, or would you wait for scippy to get back to us. As I said, we can move discussions to the dynapron google group for now, or if you really want a forum like this one, I could try to set it up... My only issue is that there is no way that I have time to handle administration by myself...

Ok folks. Looks like we've gotten quite a few people to sign up (about 7 so far). I hope the Dverse folks don't mind, I've been sending out some PM's to all the H&S folks that I remember.

I really hope that Dverse admins don't intrepert this as a slight against them on my part. In fact, I would love for anyone who calls dverse home to come to the new forum for all their hot and spicy needs. I would appreciate some official sanction from dverse, but I can understand if they don't want to do that. We did sorta sh*t in their house.

In any case, again, I appreciate all the fun and services that dverse has provided to us over the years...and I would like to take the time to personally thank folks like frey and bonk for all their hard work. I realize this site was never intended for political discussion, so hopefully we can get the new forum site up and running.

In some cases it sometimes takes a while to recognize one. Not all of them are obvious. The really good ones have "skillz".

I would suggest we start closed and open it up when we get it going.

Well, that is a site I was looking at.

But since you've started one there, maybe I don't have to.

I'm also reading up on some other free forum software. Remember I am starting from absolute ground zero on this, however, and will need a bit of time to figure things out and get stuff set up. Unless you are happy on your freeforums site, which means I can breathe a sigh of relief and just join you there.
