SFC3 camera control
« on: October 14, 2009, 07:02:47 pm »
Hello folks.

First of all, i've consulted the oracle about this issue, and all i've found were results in websites that sold both SFC3 and digital cameras.

I'm wondering if there is any way to improve SFC 3 camera view. I find it pretty frustrating that i can't zoom in to see my ship up close without severely hampering my tactical view in the follow mode (pressing F3, default mode). I've also found out that pressing F2 would bring me the chase camera which does exactly what i want, but if i press F5 to lock onto target the camera JUMPS to the target instead of just panning and moving the screen with it (like it does with the normal view camera lock). I then wonder what's the purpose of the Enemy Camera (F4)

So to summarize, my question is: Is there any way to have the normal camera target lock while using the ship-centered camera?

EDIT: Also, where can i find the FULL keymap list? The manual doesn't list the camera control keys (page-up and down for camera up and down, home and end to rotate and + and - to zoom.)

Nevermind the question, since noone answered then probably it is impossible. Although i did found out that lowering the "shipsize" parameter in the DefaultCore.txt would create the effect i wanted, approaching the camera to the ship without making it move to the center of the screen. The only downside is that both the shield bubble and the rings get much smaller than the ship, since i am telling the game that the model is smaller than it actually is.
