And if there is, it won't be for quite a while. I think there was an oversaturation of SFC.

I am sure it will. SFC is one of the best Star Trek games.
What I think is that the following SFC game will be more mainstream. Better graphics, easy controls (more streamlined?) and all the stuff so the mindless people can use it.

MarianoDT, there are  those who would argue that SFC3 is in fact just what you describe above.  SFC3 is a fun game when it's working, but there's little doubt that it's already been "simplified" greatly since SFC2.  Personally I wouldn't want to see an even more "simplified" SFC game, if anything more is removed from the series it would cease to bear any resemblance to what we have come to know as SFC.

And you will....It is the only way so sell more...
I donīt know what is happening with today customers (maybe it is because of the TV) but it seems that the market rewards very-easy-good-looking games with good sales.

Need an example, i am sure you have already thought a couple....

It's called greed.  More complex games will still make a profit, just not as big.  That's no reason to not make more complex games.

I'm sick of this dumbing down trend in all mainstream entertainment.  It's insulting to the intelligence of the customer base.  Because of this, I just don't watch much T.V. or go to movies anymore.  90% of it is just plain boring.

I have nothing against SFC3 except for the fact that they called it SFC.  If they make another SFC, they should expand on the SFC2 system.  Taldren and Activision owe it to the core fans.

I'll say it again........long live Galaxies at War!!!!!
