Problems receiving authorisation email
« on: October 13, 2009, 11:12:07 am »

Apologies for posting here, but I can't find info anywhere else to post it.

I'm having problems verifying my registration. Despite having requested a repeat several times I'm not getting the confirmation email to respond to. I've checked my Spam and Unsure folders and checked the spam folders on my domain mail (provided by my hosting company) and none has the mail.

This would appear to indicate that I've entered my email address incorrectly, but attempting to set up another account with my email address objects because "another user is already using that mail address"!

To post this I've "borrowed" a mate's email and he verified for me. I'd like to keep this account now, and correct the email address, but the unverified account is locking the flaming address!

Elements of Kafka and Catch 22, and quite funny, but incredibly frustrating!

Can anyone suggest action please?

Thanks,

CJ

Apologies for the late reply, and welcome to Dynaverse.net!

Chocolate covered cotton is available in Ten Forward. ;)

Seriously though, what is the account that you did not receive the activation email for? I can activate it manually for you and then take a look at the email address to see what the problem might be. (don't post email address here, just the account/user name)

I just tested two registrations yesterday (from a hotmail and a yahoo address - got the activation emails fine). There must be something funky about your address or mail server spam filters or something like that.

Anyway, let me know what the account is, I'll activate it for you, then we can figure out what is up with your email.
